Novel : Victoria Aveyard

"Glass Sword"
by
Victoria Aveyard

This is the 2nd book of Red Queen series. The story is really complex and intense, especially between Mare and Cal. This book is different from any other book that I read before so I really enjoy the story and the twist but also heartbroken. I like the deep relationship that Mare and Shape has. It reminds me of my relationship with my sister. I recommend you to read this book because it is really amazing!!! I couldn't get over it after a week. The ending is really epic so I can't wait for the next book. I hope it's release soon.

Community Service Initiative

In this module, we have to do fundraising to help people in Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-Orang Cacat (PPOC) to sell their bags handmade. PPOC located at Lot 5364, Taman Kanagapuram, Jalan 18/22, 46000 Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.

The objectives of the fundraising are to raise funds for the residents of PPOC, to promote awareness about the disabled community to the public, to instill a sense of social responsibility in the members of the public and to promote a culture of caring and respect towards disabled members of the society.

Wednesday, 21 September 2016

We started to discuss the plan and where to sell the bags from Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-Orang Cacat (PPOC) . The first option we tried to contact Publica because we think Publica has more chance and many people go there. Once we called Publica, they asked to send them the proposal. At that time, we discuss what necessary things to put in the proposal.

Saturday, 1 October 2016

Today is the first visit we (Annable, Eka, Gracia, Nicoule and Fauza) go to PPOC. Because the person (sign the proposal) in charge wasn’t there so we met with Ms. Amy and we told what the proposal is all about. We also left the proposal with them so they can read and approved the proposal. After we discuss with Ms. Amy, she brought us to see the products that we going to sell. There is different size of bags and products such as hand towel, bags, and pouch. The products materials id from fabric because they have people that sponsor fabric to them.

This is some pages of the proposal that we need them to approve.

Fauza, Annable, and Eka went to Amcorp Mall to book the place. Our place is on level 1, east wing. They will provide us 1 chair and 2 tables. We will sell from 10am-6pm. We planned to break the members into 4 people for 1 day and we planned to sell on 5 & 6 November 2016.

Sunday, 6 November 2016
The second round we sold the bags, the another round was on 5 November 2016. On Sunday was quite a lot of people went to the Amcorp Mall because there was flea market was going on there. I think the flea market will be there in 1 month. We managed to sell 4 pouches, 2 hand towels, 6 bags. Total we get RM 156 (from 5 Nov) + RM 205 (from 6 Nov) = RM 361.

This is the sticker that we give to the people who buy the products.

The table set up for the products (bags, hand towel, and pouch)

There were a lot of people sold different kind of things such as old money, toys, painting, books, bags, etc. It was a great experience to communicate will people and caring about others. Some of the sellers besides us was really kind and friendly although we did not each other.

Throughout this module, I had learn about other community (disability people) that we less concerned and it was a great experience to know more about them. Although they can't do much at least they can do something helpful.
